ELA Regents Part 2

What kind of texts do you expect to read?
I expect to read non-fiction literature.

What is a graph, and what kind of information does it elicit?
The graph has stuff about Watercraft Collisions, Flood Gate/Canal Lock, Other Humans, Perinatal, Other Natural, and Undetermined disturbing the Manatee.

How can you compare the two?
I think that I can compare the two works by reading them and comparing the graph with the text.

What are they asking you to do in this essay?
The Task for this essay is this following:
Using relevant information from both documents, write a chapter for a guide
for your environmental science class in which you explain why the Florida manatee is
endangered and discuss effective methods used to save the Florida manatee.

Is this a persuasive or informative essay? Why?
This is an informative essay because it is telling you about how boats are killing manatees, how cold weather is also killing manatees.

What thesis statement can you possibly write for this essay?
The thesis I could possible write about the essay is why the Florida manatees are endangered and the methods that are being used to save the Florida Manatees.

What if they wanted you to write a Letter to a senator, then how many paragraphs would you write?
If they wanted me to write a letter to a senator I would write 5-7 paragraphs.
