Session Part Two- Part A; Power Of Reading

Your Task: After you have read the passage and answered the multiple-choice questions, write a unified essay about the power of reading as revealed in the passages. In your essay, use ideas from both passages to establish a controlling idea about the power of reading. Using evidence from each passage, develop your controlling idea and show how the author uses specific literary elements or techniques to convey that idea.

Good Lead sentence up to intro Reading Novels, Poems, Short Stories, etc. makes you see things in different point of views sometimes what you think might be changing by what you read. In the poem "The Reader" by Richard Wilbur it is in third person point of view. and The excerpted from "A General In Library" proves how much power reading
on an individual has as well as "The Reader" [Cross out]

" For heaven's sake! The Things you learn! who would ever have though!"Signor Crispino quoted from the excerpt. His opinion of reading changed so much, he went on a mission "blaming" books for the "catastrophes" that was being said about military. Irony Yet came out thinking totally different. "They were constantly discovering new interests to satisfy and were enjoying their reading and studies."Irony Con't Italo Calvino uses imagery by describing the characters, and the setting where this event took place Signo Crispino, and the four lieutenants learned so many things, saw things in different points thinking you're going to get your mission done right and you come out with ideas that would shock you just like it would shock other people because after all that reading you've done you know that you will come back in the future.
On the other hand, in " The Reader" by Richard Wilbur the narrator knows and feels the power of reading. Richard Wilbur conveys imagery by quoting"And a page turnsnow with a scuffing around." The Power of reading could be really strong because it teachesn you new things makes you want to keep reading more, and makes you see life in a whole new way. -how? This passage is in third person point of view. Throughout the poem characters from the literature are being described.
In addition, both readings prove to have a big power in ones lifes. Even though the passages are told differently and are seen in different point of views it shows you that reading will and could change your life.
In conclusion, reading in life is very important because of the fact that you could never judge a book by its cover. Richard Wilbur and Italo Calvino both made good points of reading. On that you can't just say something about a book without even reading it.
